The story behind the poster

The Dance of Death took place on Halloween night in 1966. Ken Kesey was to host the Acid Test Graduation on that same night but couldn’t pull it off. Kesey’s event was rescheduled, and the Grateful Dead instead played at the Dance of Death at California Hall.
