The story behind the poster

The Charlatans jumpstarted the nascent psychedelic folk-rock scene with their residency at The Red Dog Saloon in Virginia City, Nevada, in June of 1965. Commonly referred to as “the Seed,” this poster by the Charlatan’s George Hunter and Michael Ferguson was the spark that started the fire of psychedelic poster art. Two versions of this poster exist due to the delay of the original event.
